It was the 715th anniversary of my city, Surabaya yesterday. "Sparkling Surabaya" becomes the motto of the anniversary, which means the city was enlightened by colorful lights. It was totally crowded that night when I went out. Okay, I didn't went out to celebrate the anniversary, yet to meet up someone, one of multipliers in my contact. Having an account in Multiply gives you some advantages and of course disadvantages
, yet I won't talk about the disadvantages ones.
1. You are used to writing, expressing your thoughts ( hopefully in an appropriate manner) and sharing things with the ones you trust. Or I should say you are free to write anything you want ( but be wise, I guess) have you ever heard a saying " Sometimes it is wise not to tell" ? so, it's all up to you whether or not you wanna speak out aloud to public.
2. Having new acquaintances, and if you click they might be your friends, even best friends.
3. Learning new things from people either those who share the same languages or who don't share the same languages as you ( if you get contacts from different countries)
Those are just some
Let's back to what happened last night; I met up with a contact ( another multiplier in my contact list) Mbak Lia from Jakarta. (I have already met some of my contacts though.) but we didn't take photos, I guess we were too busy to eat and talk?
To me, it's always great to get the chance to meet new people; you learn something about them and you learn something about yourself too. So I guess, it's not something wrong to express my heartfelt appreciation to those who put a smile on my face
, is it?. Thanks Mbak Lia
( semoga semua baik2 aja disana ya mbak Lia)
Here are some of my "Kopdar"

and few others, but we didn't take any pictures
.
Okay then I will leave you with today's theme song. I won't get bored to tell if you know the song, come on sing along!
"When I was just a little girl, I asked my mother what would I be? Will I be pretty? will I be rich, here's what she says to me; quee serra2 ( hmm while singing, I am wondering how to spell the words) whatever will be will be"
Addendum:
"Kopdar" is an abbreviation of "Kopi Darat" a term used to mean a meeting with people whom you only know offline then you decide to meet them face to face. This is the funny thing, literally kopi means Coffee while Darat means Land, Can you imagine Coffee and Land put together and become new phrase and meaning? Perhaps this is because of the habit people do while meeting; they drink coffee while talking.
These abbreviated words are common here; people get used to combining two words together, one of the example is "kopdar" tell me if you are interested in any other examples. Perhaps this habit becomes more and more common as cellphones and texting are also becoming more and more usual. ( Is this some kind of breakthrough in linguistics? well, that needs research in depth, hehehe)
Love and much love
