It was the 715th anniversary of my city, Surabaya yesterday. "Sparkling Surabaya" becomes the motto of the anniversary, which means the city was enlightened by colorful lights. It was totally crowded that night when I went out. Okay, I didn't went out to celebrate the anniversary, yet to meet up someone, one of multipliers in my contact. Having an account in Multiply gives you some advantages and of course disadvantages , yet I won't talk about the disadvantages ones. 1. You are used to writing, expressing your thoughts ( hopefully in an appropriate manner) and sharing things with the ones you trust. Or I should say you are free to write anything you want ( but be wise, I guess) have you ever heard a saying " Sometimes it is wise not to tell" ? so, it's all up to you whether or not you wanna speak out aloud to public. 2. Having new acquaintances, and if you click they might be your friends, even best friends. 3. Learning new things from people either those who share the same languages or who don't share the same languages as you ( if you get contacts from different countries) Those are just some Let's back to what happened last night; I met up with a contact ( another multiplier in my contact list) Mbak Lia from Jakarta. (I have already met some of my contacts though.) but we didn't take photos, I guess we were too busy to eat and talk? To me, it's always great to get the chance to meet new people; you learn something about them and you learn something about yourself too. So I guess, it's not something wrong to express my heartfelt appreciation to those who put a smile on my face , is it?. Thanks Mbak Lia ( semoga semua baik2 aja disana ya mbak Lia) Here are some of my "Kopdar" http://luluone.multiply.com/photos/album/75/Postingan_Sambung_Menyambung http://luluone.multiply.com/photos/album/78/Black_And_White_Went_Out_Together_Edisi_Kopdar_ and few others, but we didn't take any pictures . Okay then I will leave you with today's theme song. I won't get bored to tell if you know the song, come on sing along! "When I was just a little girl, I asked my mother what would I be? Will I be pretty? will I be rich, here's what she says to me; quee serra2 ( hmm while singing, I am wondering how to spell the words) whatever will be will be" Addendum: "Kopdar" is an abbreviation of "Kopi Darat" a term used to mean a meeting with people whom you only know offline then you decide to meet them face to face. This is the funny thing, literally kopi means Coffee while Darat means Land, Can you imagine Coffee and Land put together and become new phrase and meaning? Perhaps this is because of the habit people do while meeting; they drink coffee while talking. These abbreviated words are common here; people get used to combining two words together, one of the example is "kopdar" tell me if you are interested in any other examples. Perhaps this habit becomes more and more common as cellphones and texting are also becoming more and more usual. ( Is this some kind of breakthrough in linguistics? well, that needs research in depth, hehehe) Love and much love Lu2Ar
| Sebenarnya ini cerita udah rotten, udah lama buangeti; sekitar 8 bulan yang lalu, hmm lebih kali ya, nggak sampe satu tahun tapi. Saya kalau udah kumpul teman-teman kerja; Reny dan Dora udah deh kadang nggak peduli kanan kiri, pokoknya kita cerita, ngomong, ketawa ha ha hi hi, ya nggak cuwawakan juga sih, itu minjem istilahnya jawa alias all out. Saking lamanya kita bekerja bersama kita kadang sebut singkatan kita DOLORE - Dora, Lulu, Reny. Nah jam nonton udah deket terus si Dora SMS "SOrry, I will be a bit late. U ama Renny masuk dulu aja, gue nyusul." Kay-O ( baca O.K) akhirnya gue jalan-jalan ama Reny berdua aja. Nggak sadar, ngomong ini itu, liat sana sini, eehh!!! telat juga skita, nggak parah ihh. Movienya jam 3 kita telat hmm 10 menitan ( parah kah??). Kita tuh bener-bener kaget and tergesa-gesa, akhirnya pas sampe di cinema udah gelap! mati dah!! mati dah, mana usher ga ad alagi!! mati dah! waktu itu kita lagi jadi orang Amerika alias pake inggrisan mulu. Gawat!! pas sampe di kursi kita, eeeh kok ada couple nyante berduaan disitu? nggak liat tiketnya apa?? terus kita panik jangan-jangan kita yang salah lagi, cek tiket liat nomernya bener apa enggak. Saking "heboh"nya kita jongkok dilante deket kursi deretan B. Ditengah kehebohan kita ada cewek deket Renny jongkok, dia duduk di kursi B pacarnya disebelah kanannya bantuin kita, terus bilang "Can I help you?". Sorry sorry. Puh!! akhirnya bisa juga duduk! tapi buat mastiin itu kursi kita, kita cek lagi pas duduk! pake center HP cek nomer, and si cewek penolong itu masih bilang " yes, correct this is your seat" ya udah " thank you" Udah film main! Si Dora datang! pas dia duduk, kita tiba-tiba nyerocos pake suroboyoan!! sebenarnya Dora dulu yang mulai " parkire pol!!" hehe, tau deh si cewek denger apa enggak. Pas film selesai, hehe kita bahas pake suroboyoan gitu sekalian nunggu rada sepian dikit jadi enak keluar cinemanya! eeeh pas si cewek turun, ngeliat kita gimana gitu!. Taken when I was in Jogja, the unforgetable city. It was taken in the very top temple of Borobudur. What is so special of this photo? Definitely, it was not taken by a profesional kind of camera, yet I sense a great feeling every time I look at the photo; I feel like being there in Jogja- Central Java. I always miss Jogja that is for sure. So, I dedicate this photo to Jogja, and those who have been there and fallen in love instantly with it and the people. | It was hot and dry Having fought against my thirst Yet, my soul was calm As I was there It was hot and dry and full Those smiled I noticed Those faces I remembered You are another love I have found Enjoy Lu2Ar In participating http://fotofriday.multiply.com | | |
Perhaps, only few who know that this temple DOES exist. It is located up the hill of Jogja. We felt lucky that we managed to visit
this temple. Thank you so very much to my cousin who showed this temple to us. The "unknown" temple is located in Sambirejo Village. That's why we call the temple Sambirejo temple. There are many temples in this village, and we only visited some. II call it "unknown" as it is not mentioned in the travel-guide book from www.lonelyplanet.com Indonesian version. (the book is popular among tourists who want to explore Indonesia.) When we went there, a villager came to us and asked us to fill the "guestbook". Having read the guestboook, I was a bit surprised knowing that there have been quite many visitors ever visited this temple, but mostly they are from abroad. I guess they are some hikers as the location of the temple is really up the hill, so I can understand that sometimes people feel lazy to visit this temple. I inside the temple, you can see a water-fountain look alike thing, perhaps thousands years ago, people in the era used it to gather some water. According to many people and my cousin too, people in the era used yolk to join one stone to another stone. Phew! that must have been a lot of work. What kind of technology they used? nobody knows. I'd say "simple" technolog in my era, yet "modern" in their time. Overall, the temple is in a quite good condition. The surrounding seems to be well maintained. Looking Jogja city in the temple is possible and it gives you an amazing view of Jogja city. I am not sure whether Kesultanan- Hamengkubuwono knows this temple, perhaps he does. There are many unknown temples in Jogja. I'd say that Jogja is called a thousand-temple city as there are many temples can be found here in Jogja. Have you ever wondered how they managed to build such strong temples?? Should you neeed any information about how to get to this temple. PM me! Lu2Ar
MERDEKA!!!! (Indonesia! satu selamanya! ) Maaf saudara sebangsa setanah air and all my friends, I just came back for a week journey to explore the beauty of Indonesia, and I even did not have any chances to access the internet cafe, so I just checked it now. For those who celebrated birhday in the previous dates, which I was "absent" from MP, I really wish you a happy birthday and many happiness on you. Oh, I have around 300 pictures to share ( but don't worry I am not that narcissism, so sorry if there won't be many pictures of me there!) and also would like to share you many great stories (well, at least in my opinion) and experiences, which I hope can help you see you as Indonesian or as a person should learn more and more (well, at least they helped me change in some ways and since "bad" experience happened to me....) hehe. .. okay sorry once again for my seven-day absence. Happy day for you and may you always be healthy! Lu2Ar
